Vista Beta2 and newly assembled PC
nice Rig, out of interest have you run any 3dmark 05 or 06 under XP (or any OS you may have installed) I'd love to know what sort of results you'd get with to mid range cards over one high end one.

Your computer should be great with Vista. I would guess Vista would rate it a 4 or a 5. 5 is the highest rating as of right now by the way. "jvi" wrote in message

It'll be a 4 at most - it has to be 4.4Ghz or more to hit the 5 specification. I guess they're mainly heading towards the future spec. for computers, seeing as it's rare to get a computer with 4Ghz or more at the moment.

Stop making wild assumptions and making wild predictions. First of all, Vista is still not optimized for performance, so the low 2, 3 ratings might be as result of that. Remember that Intel and AMD are not basing processors on speed but performance per watt, architecture and quality must be taken into account. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

There's also source links at the bottom as well - based on that bloke's computer spec. I'd say it's a 4. You're starting to seem like you were before - snappy and defensive. Cut it out, we're all here to help.

Those are assumptions, not facts, similar to when Bill Gates said at WinHEC 2002 or 2003 that a Vista (then codenamed "Longhorn") capable computer then would be 4 to 6 Ghz. So far, we are not near that without overclocking and the approaches to Vista performance since have changed considerably
CPU score equivalent to a 4.4Ghz P4 or a 4400+ AMD K8 CPU That is assuming the equivalent to a Intel CPU, similar to a AMD 3200+ would be equal to a Pentium 3.2 Ghz although the actual processor speed for AMD is not 3.2 GHz. For example, my AMD 2600 Sempron is equivalent to a 2.6 GHz Intel Celeron. It seems to me all you do is copy and paste and don't read what you are copying.

You always do this, you can't take critquing or correction and what you always do is say I am attacking you. But I see what you are doing and you can go ahead and throw mud on me to make me look like ta bad guy. But I know what I am here for, I didn't come in these newsgroups to become most poster or looking for awards and attention. We are all here to help yes, but we can at least add the extra effort to do some research and present information that is easy for our fellow participants who are either novices or intermidiates easy to understand, not just a quick link to my blog. --
